PYT - 1940 Home Front
The 1940 Home Front toll plaza, toll gantry, enamel signs, blackout lamps, 1940 searchlights and sandbag barriers -- places itself on any road. Add Pay Your Tolls and it earns.
What it does
An olive-green 1940s toll plaza with sandbag barriers, cowled blackout lamps and 1940 searchlights that sweep the night sky. Your town's name is on the board, and Miss Moneybags rides the gold dollar on the gantry. From 1940.
Works on its own. You don't need any other mods. Add Pay Your Tolls and your 1940 tolls start earning.

HOW TO START (1940 or later)
- Road menu > the PYT tab
- Drop the Toll Plaza or a gantry onto your road. It fits itself
- Add the signs either side, then lamps, barriers and arrows in Configure
On its own: a scenery pack that places itself
- Home Front Toll Plaza: one-way or two-way, 1 to 3 lanes. Traffic splits into booth lanes and joins up again. It meets an ordinary two-way road or a dual carriageway, and the town it serves is on its board
- Trams welcome: on a road with tram track, the plaza lays its own through the bus and truck booth
- 1940 toll gantry: drop it on any road and it picks its size from the lanes, centres itself and faces the traffic. It has a riveted olive girder, a barrier boom, a sentry box and the town's name on the board
- Entry / Exit signs: weathered enamel boards. They turn to face their traffic and stand at the road's edge. Both puts THANK YOU across the road, facing the right way at each end of the toll
- Blackout lamps and 1940 searchlights: single or twin lamps, original, warm yellow or white, low to high. The searchlights sweep the sky
- Sandbag barriers: walls up to 20 m long, and sandbag noses with a red warning lamp
- Painted 1940 arrow signs and No Entry signs: on the plaza's island noses and exits, or anywhere you like
- Speed at the toll: traffic slows to the speed of the era, or keeps its own
Click any piece and choose Configure to swap its style in place, using the bar along the bottom. Everything is in the Road menu's PYT tab, one tab for every PYT pack you have.
With Pay Your Tolls: your 1940 tolls earn
- Every car, bus and truck pays into your Finances, and the toll card counts them
- The toll gantry becomes the 1940 era of PYT's Toll Gantry, and the toll gantry or the Home Front plaza can be a style of PYT's Toll Way
- The blackout lamp and the searchlight join PYT's Lights
With Harbour City: 1940 to 1990 on one road
Install both and every button lists the styles in year order, 1940 then 1990. You can swap a plaza from the Home Front to the Harbour City Wave in Configure as your road grows.

- In plain terms: the 1940 huts now have see-through windows, a furnished interior — and Bobby and his colleagues at work inside
- Left-hand traffic: with the Left Hand Traffic mod, the whole 1940 plaza is built mirrored for left-hand traffic — islands, huts and the split before them — with every board still reading the right way round, right the moment you place it
- With Pay Your Tolls: one toll keeper per hut — a full crew earns +25% on the takings; a bigger plaza may need a minute to fill up after the update
- Your existing plazas update themselves: no bulldozing
