PYT - Early Mixed Cargo Trucks

Every release, newest first. Back to the mod page · mod.io

1.2THE LOADER COMES ALONG

The trucks always carried four cargos. Now they bring the clipboard that decides what goes where. Nothing to hunt for, nothing to install: it is in the box.

In plain terms: the PYT - Load Manager is built into this pack, the download is about 24 MB lighter, and the trucks are cheaper to draw from far away.

  • New: the Load Manager is built in — a Loads card in every freight line's window with a slider for each stop, a Load Manager button in a vehicle's window, and an overview page behind the PYT button. Set each stop to load one cargo, a mix, or nothing at all; Smart fill leaves one-cargo stops alone. No other mod is needed
  • New: you can switch it off. Don't want it? Open the mod manager, pick this mod and set PYT: Load Manager to Off before you load the game. Nothing of the Load Manager shows and nothing of it runs; the vehicles, their loading and their look are untouched. It is On by default
  • Plays well with others: the Load Manager is the tool inside the standalone mod PYT - Load Planner, and this pack carries its own copy of it. If you install PYT - Load Planner too, it runs the Load Manager and this copy stays quiet. With several PYT mixed-cargo mods, only one copy runs, so nothing ever shows twice
  • Lighter: the shop pictures are compressed without losing a pixel (about 24 MB off the download), and the trucks' far-away models are simpler — about two thirds fewer triangles from 400 m — which helps big fleets

Deutsch Neu in 1.2: Die Lkw trugen schon immer vier Ladungen.

📜 Every update so far, in English and German: tfbpx.com/pyt-early-mixed-cargo-trucks-history.html

1.1.1FAIR FOR ITS ERA
  • The Lorry (1925) now drives and loads like the game's own all-cargo truck of its time, the AMO F-15: 40 km/h, 40 kW, loading 3×.
  • The Dropside (1939) loads at 3× too, and is a little quicker on the road (50 km/h).
  • The game's specialist trucks load at 6–8×, twice as fast: still the best choice for a single cargo. Mixed cargo costs 25% more to run — the price of the flexibility.
  • Prices like the game's own trucks: the three lorries now cost what the matching game truck costs, and the Lorry and Dropside last as long.
  • The Parcels Express carries 6, like the game's Horse Carriage (was 8).
  • Shop icons at the game's own scale.

1.1SIGNALS AND BALANCE

You asked, we listened — a big thank you to Knifff for the balance idea: “there must always be pros and cons, otherwise you only use that one.” He was right, so we changed it here and in the sister pack, PYT - Late Mixed Cargo Trucks.

  • Balance: every truck now loads at the universal rate — half the specialist trucks' speed. Flexible but slower to load, so there's a real choice. (1925–1950 trucks 8× → 4×, the van 5× → 3×.)
  • Trafficators: the 1925 lorry and the 1939 dropside now signal their turns with lit semaphore arms that swing out of the cab side — period-correct, before flashing indicators existed.
  • In plain terms: slower loading on all four trucks, turn signals on the two that lacked them.
